NEST Eco Garden

My name is Linda and I am a plant practitioner. A nurse practitioner who loves plants.

I have been a nurse for 15 years and I’ve worked in various settings. Witnessing the damaging effects of chronic illnesses, I delved into researching their root causes. I found several alternative medical models that aim to get to the root of diseases. These include Lifestyle Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Natural Medicine, and Functional Medicine.

Nutrition is the recurring theme in all these medical models. They may not all agree with each other, but one thing is true: eating nutritional food is vital for one’s health.

What does eating healthy look like?

I believe that growing your own food is deep-rooted to eating healthy and helping the environment. So I am here to inspire you to grow wherever you are.

Welcome to Nest Ecological Garden, where we nourish ecosystems sustainably together.

WelCome one and all!

Greetings from Nest Ecological Garden. We started this blog during the 2023 summer planting season in Zone 6B, Lehigh County PA.

Our goal is to work with nature in establishing a garden that provides care all year round and supports local wildlife. Yes, we have a lawn, but we are working on sustainability one season at a time. We believe in progress, not perfection. So we encourage you to start where you are and join the journey to ecological gardening.

I used the term “ecological garden” to avoid getting tied down by labels and “branded” practices. Let’s learn from each other without judgment. This will prevent costly mistakes and we will nurture ourselves, our communities and the earth.

It is always great to see a garden in bloom, but we want to share the small beginnings and be realistic about our outcomes. So the goal is to wonder with nature in order to nourish our souls, our bodies, and our minds. We will reflect on life lessons and learn how to apply them in everyday life.

We invite you to grow with us. Each season, we’ll be discussing our garden progress, and providing tools and a monthly checklist. We will look at growing herbs, vegetables, and fruits, and also provide natural solutions for garden issues in our plant clinic.

Lastly, I want to invite you to explore different resources together. We’ll explore the art and science of ecological gardening through documentaries, articles, and books.

Thank you for joining us on our gardening journey!
